Following a successful pilot of nurse-driven ART in Lusikisiki and Lesotho, where there was a scarcity of doctors,[8] MSF partnered with the PGWC to implement a nurse-initiated management of ART (NIMART) mentorship programme in Khayelitsha in December 2011, with the first NIMART-trained midwives providing ART at the Site B MOU in May 2012.
