While CEO of PRSA, the world's largest professional society for public relations practitioners, Murray managed an organization of 32,000 individual members and was honored as the 2009 Outstanding Association Executive of the Year by the New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE).
When PRSA refers to accredited professionals, they refer to about 5,000 all over the US that have earned the title "APR" or accredited in public relations.
The minimum qualifications required to be considered for this award are; must have a minimum of five years as a PRAL or PRSA member; must have a minimum 15 years in public relations or a related field; must be recognized for high standards of professional and personal integrity; and must show service to the profession through public service, volunteer work, and/or work with students, interns, and young professionals.
Public relations firm MWW said it received three awards at the 2012 PRSA Silver Anvil Awards, presented June 7, for "Flight Plan for the Future: JetBlue Preserves Its Direct Relationship with Pilots," including two Silver Anvils for crisis communications and internal communications.
