(b) The average peristimulus time histograms (PSTH, 90 dB SPL) of the 6-month group were also larger than those of the 2 month-old mice.

Peri-stimulus time histograms (PSTHs) were calculated with a 10-ms bin width, and were smoothed with a Gaussian filter ([sigma], 10 ms).
The PSTHs obtained by stationary flash stimulation (1,600 x 1,600 [micro]m, 2s; Middle left) and by moving bar stimulation (1,600 x 1,200[micro]m, 6.48mm/s: 108[degrees]/s; Middle right) on a uniformly dark background.
(2) We identified a pseudorandom sequence (code) "1101" for PSTH in the literature as well as from our experience which should provide clues about neuronal circuits around electrodes.

The problem is that the observed code maps have no repeatability except for the statistical characteristics as treated here or within such short term as 20 ms where post-stimulus time histogram (PSTH) can be observed with coherency between neighboring neurons.
Figure 5(b) shows a representative PSTH of a multiunit cluster in the Str in response to a noise burst (50 ms duration, 100 dB SPL).
To identify the SS-induced changes in the population of units from which we recorded, we computed the mean PSTH at each frequency-intensity combination from all 26 multiunit clusters as described previously [56].
SS altered the temporal profile of LFP and PSTH from the Str and LA.
