Aortic and carotid artery stiffness measured by
PWV increases by approximately 10-15% per decade with age across this population.
Figure 3 shows the distribution of the 37-year averaged
PWV for spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
The interpretation of the graphical representation of an OA Doppler occurs by the analysis of the pulse wave velocity (
PWV), the velocity peaks, the average velocity of a cardiac cycle ([V.sub.mean]), and the indexes that relate the systolic and diastolic velocities: pulsatility index (PI), given by (PSV-EDV)/[V.sub.mean]; resistance index (RI), given by (PSV-EDV)/PSV; and peak ratio (PR), given by P2/PSV.
Together with NLR and SLEDAI, there was also a positive relationship between DBP and
PWV. Age and blood pressure are well-known risk factors related to
PWV.
Thus, only the Suominet website (https:// suominet.ucar.edu), a government research group funded by the National Science Foundation, currently provides near real-time processed GNSS data in the form of
PWV and only for a subset of the available ground based GNSS sites.
Overall, as shown in Table 3, the nanomechanical properties of hydrated and dehydrated media were significantly and positively correlated with the patient's
PWV value, which was similar to the dehydrated adventitia [1].
In the present study,
PWV and Aix values were higher in the CVI group compared to the control group, but however no significant differences were observed between the groups in terms of central systolic and diastolic blood pressures.
The previous study reported how arterial pulse waveform characteristics changed with lower peripheral resistance, where a narrow and high main wave, unnoticeable tidal wave, highlighted dicrotic wave, and decreased
PWV were observed [32].
Eligible studies evaluating the effects of DPP-4 inhibitors, GLP-1 RAs, and SGLT-2 inhibitors on FMD and
PWV were drawn from a systematic review of the English literature in the MEDLINE and Web of Science databases up to 31 January 2018.
There are several parameters to assess AS being frequently used the aortic pulse wave velocity (
PWV) and augmentation index (AIx) of the aorta and the brachial artery.
Multivariate linear regression analysis was used to evaluate independent variables for
PWV. A p value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
CAVI involves the measurement of pulse wave velocity (
PWV), but the effects of blood pressure are minimized.
