Although the typical symptoms of PAEF consist of abdominal pain, gastrointestinal hemorrhage and a pulsatile abdominal mass, this classic triad of symptoms can be found in only 23% of the patients.
An aggressive diagnostic workup and a high index of suspicion are required for successful outcome in cases of PAEF.
Fellow PAEF Directors Zbigniew Brzezinski, Robert Faris and Nicholas Rey will join the Foundation's Board as well.
PAEF was organized in May, 1990 as a bold, new experiment in foreign assistance, governed and managed by experienced private executives and Polish experts to encourage private sector development through a program of loans and investments in Poland's emerging small enterprises.
By augmenting its government capital with funds raised in the private sector and by recycling proceeds from its small loan program, the PAEF has invested and loaned well over $700 million in support of emerging Polish enterprises and institutions while preserving its capital and producing as well a gain.
