19 March 2010 - Hungarian mobile phone operator Pannon GSM is due to rebrand to Telenor in May 2010, its parent company, Norwegian telecom group Telenor ASA (OSL: TEL) said Friday.
The 16 telecoms operators from the new member states and candidate countries are BH Telecom (Bosnia-Herzegovina), BTC (Bulgaria), Cesky Telecom (Czech Republic), CYTA (Cyprus), Elion (Estonia), Croatian Telecom (Croatia), Invitel (Hungary), Lattelekom (Latvia), Maltacom (Malta), Matav (Hungary), Pannon GSM (Hungary), Rom Telecom (Romania), Slovak Telecom (Slovakia), Telekom Slovenije (Slovenia), Telekomunikacja Polska (Poland), VIPnet (Croatia).
MmO2's 'Mobile Alliance', covering nine countries and 40 million subscribers, includes Austria's One, Enel's Wind in Italy, Spain's Amena, Norway's Telenor Mobil and Hungary's Pannon GSM, both owned by Telenor, and Switzerland's sunrise, a unit of Denmark's TDC.
