With three antimicrobial polycarbonate grades and one antimicrobial
polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS) grade, Bayer's portfolio of medical antimicrobial plastics can help manufacturers improve protection against bacteria growth in medical equipment and devices compared with untreated polymers.
Bayblend[R] M750
polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS) meets manufacturers' needs for a more ductile material for use in medical applications, such as medical electronics or devices.
The electrical cover, white housing and top and the red safety guard of the device are injection molded using two medical grades of Bayblend[R]
polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (PC/ABS) blend plastic, Bayblend M850 and Bayblend M850XF.
"This grade of Texin resin gives molders and OEMs a plasticizer-free material that offers better adhesion to a variety of substrates, such as nylon, polycarbonate (PC) and PC/ABS (
polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)," he continued.
