Female drug abusers were eligible for the study if they a) were aged 18 or older; b) were currently receiving substance abuse treatment in a outpatient drug treatment center; c) were currently in a relationship with a male partner and d) reported IPV in the past month using an adapted version of the Composite Abuse Scale (Hegarty, Sheehan, & Sconfeld, 1999) and the Psychological Maltreatment of Women Inventory (Tolman, 1999) e) could communicate in Spanish.
