Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qatar Petrochemical Company (
Qapco) to enhance co-operation on education, research and community development.

Qapco personnel to their students and trainees and will strengthen the knowledge, skills and capacities of practitioners in this field to improve the delivery of current and future programmes.

Qapco's facility in Mesaieed Industrial City, Qatar.

QAPCO plant.

QAPCO since the early 1980s, and this latest contract award is an excellent demonstration of the extensive capabilities of Siemens, integrating different technologies from across the company's energy portfolio," said Siemens WLL Qatar general manager, oil & gas division, Hamad Al Khayyat.
The contract, which is on a turnkey basis, will see Siemens provide 33Kv gas-insulated switchgear, and 11kV and 3.3kV air-insulated switchgear to the
QAPCO facility's substation, replacing existing installations with more compact, higher-rated technology and boosting the reliability of the network's power distribution.
