ISLAMABAD: The syndicate of Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) discussed 100 agenda items and reviewed various administrative matters in its 173rd meeting held here on Thursday.
They have also decided to extend full support to Joint Action Committee established by the stakeholders against illegal occupation of QAU land and announced that all possible options will be utilized for end of illegal occupation of QAU land.
'We have to keep in mind the key role played by the Aligarh University and its students in creating Pakistan,' stated QAU faculty member Dr Shoaib who was participating in the protest.

Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences QAU and President of Pakistan Mathematical Society, Professor Qaiser Mushtaq briefed the participants about the financial and other issues being faced by the society.
Dr Muhammad Masoom Yasinzai, the vice chancellor of QAU, told Daily Times in an exclusive interview that all the pending issues of the campus regarding PhD admissions and GRE test, employees' promotions and new appointments, security concerns and hostel affairs etc would be discussed in the syndicate meeting.
He also served as the vice chancellor of two leading universities, QAU and Allama Iqbal Open University.
As per the CDA Report submitted in SupremeCourt of Pakistan HRC No.932-G/2017 dated: 24/01/2017 and minutes of the recentmeeting held on 15th January 2010 at QAU Islamabad also endorsed thelegal claim of QAU over 1709 acres of the land.
The QAU was allotted 1,709 acres by the CDA in the 1970s.
Officials informed The Nation that QAU administration and Capital Development Authority (CDA) have come up with different claims regarding area of the land allotted to the university.
Appreciating the efforts of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) teams and District Administration in carrying out operations against theillegal occupation of QAU land, he said that all departments are playing anactive role against encroachments.
The speakers expressed serious concerns that despite passage of another year, no concrete step has been undertaken to get QAU land evacuated by the illegal occupants.
