A survey of QBPC members showed only 28% described their exposure to counterfeits as being improved (though that represented an 11% increase on 2005).

Research by the QBPC has found particular black spots include Taizhou, a Zhejiang city heavily involved in car bumpers and panels.
The larger Zhejiang metropolises of Wenzhou and Ningbo (both of which have a tradition of private enterprises making multiple, legitimate auto parts) have recently become centres of the counterfeit trade, according to QBPC research.
Chinese police and judiciary are feted each year at an awards night run by the QBPC. The awards encourage prosecution of counterfeiting cases.
