Federation Training has been involved in three RPFF
projects, totalling $5.3 million, to develop skills in areas of economic demand and employment growth, Mr Wakeling said.
The $10.65 million project, which will receive $2.5 million through the RPFF, will pool the efforts of Monash University, GippsTAFE, University of Ballarat, the Gippsland Education Precinct and privately run companies Lion and Safetech.
The $4.5 million Higher Education Programs and Pathways project, which will receive $2.1 million through the RPFF, will be led by the University of Ballarat with support from Monash University.
The $20 million RPFF is directly addressing the disparity in educational opportunity experienced by regional students by rewarding innovative partnerships between vocational organisations and higher education institutions.
The seven projects that were awarded $10.4 million in RPFF funds in 2011 will see initial 900 regional students enrol in 14 different qualifications with many more benefiting over the lifetime of the projects.
