Incorporation of 0.5 wt% organoclay (RKOC or RWOC) reduced the brightness of the nanocomposite filaments dyed with 0.5% Setapers Red P2G or 1.5% Setapers Blue TBFL-NEW, whereas recovery of the brightness was observed when increased the organoclay amount to 1 wt%.
Better dispersion of the clay layers in the RWOC samples resulted in greater molecular constrain (network formation) and hence had a dominating effect on the decrease of the degree of crystallinity.
