Rypos has received Level 3 Plus verification by CARB for its Hybrid Diesel Particulate Filter (HDPF/C).
Being verified to Level 3 Plus is a major milestone for Rypos, "it's a benchmark for the industry we are in," said Evan Ypsilantis, director, sales at the Holliston, Mass.-based company.
The other segments see that our technology can be verified and because it's the same core technology in just a different size, shape or form, we are confident that the features of Rypos technology will prove to be a competitive advantage for these other applications."
Attaining the CARB Level 3 Plus verification certifies Rypos' HDPF/C filter to reduce particulate matter by 85% or more.
The Rypos Active Diesel Particulate Filters (Rypos ADPF/C) are designed to remove up to 90% of the particulate matter and gases from the exhaust stream.
The Rypos ADPF/C combines banks of sintered metal filter elements that resemble compressed steel wool and are conductive with a diesel oxidation catalyst.
The Rypos ADPF/C is designed for newer engines using low sulfur diesel fuel.
It said the Rypos Trap was developed with a sintered metal fiber filter that is much less susceptible to cracking due to the fact that the metal conducts heat and is more ductile than its extruded ceramic counterparts.
"The Rypos Trap's technically advanced design incorporates a sintered metal fiber filter which over the life of the product is more durable.
