Thanks in part to a generous grant from the NAMM Foundation, the National Piano Foundation is offering a limited number of scholarships from $500-$750 to MTNA-member piano teachers who are interested in and committed to learning more about Recreational Music Making (RMM) and devel oping an RMM group lessons program for their studio and/or their community.
An introductory 4-disc DVD set, titled, Recreational Music Making, is available by Debra Perez, Brenda Dillon and Autumn Keller (National Piano Foundation, 2008).
Recreational Music Making opens up the world of music to potentially millions of new piano students.
MTNA's Specialist Program provides music teachers an opportunity to obtain a designation as a specialist in the areas of RMM (Recreational Music Making) and/or Group Piano.
We are independent teachers, college faculty, college students, rural and urban, rookies and veterans, all instruments and voice, specialties such as jazz, or Recreational Music Making, or early childhood music--the list goes on!

The RMM track is for the independent piano or class piano teacher who is interested in starting a program in Recreational Music Making. Independent piano teachers will find the RMM track especially useful as a means of opening up their studio to potential new students and income.
Thanks in part to a generous grant from the NAMM Foundation, the National Piano Foundation is offering a limited number of scholarships up to $500 to MTNA-member piano teachers who are interested in and committed to learning more about Recreational Music Making (RMM), and developing an RMM program for their studio and/or their community.
One of these annual scholarships in the amount of $750 is to be used specifically for Recreational Music Making training, as presented by MTNA, and the other for furthering one's teaching skills through continued education and/or performance study in the amount of $1,000.
