In group B, 19 cases healed at the osteotomy site, with a nonunion incidence lower than the 8–29% rate at the osteotomy site reported by the literature.[sup][18] This was consistent with the 100% healing rate at the subtrochanteric osteotomy site after THA with the cementless S-ROM prosthesis reported by Biant et al .[sup][19] Thus, THA with subtrochanteric osteotomy is effective and feasible; the modular S-ROM prosthesis includes the porous coating module, which promotes bone healing to some degree.
