SAFEA is the Chinese government agency responsible for certifying foreign experts to work in mainland China and for organising overseas training for Chinese professionals.
On PMI's part, key staff and volunteer leadership make frequent trips to China to meet with officials from the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs Training Center to sustain the relationship, whereby SAFEA TC administers applications for the Project Management Professional examination, arranges test sites, and promotes awareness of the PMI examinations in China.

During the Annual Dinner, held on the final evening of the Conference, we honored SAFEA (the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs), our partner in China, with the prestigious ICMA Bulloch Award.
With the support of organizations such as China Telecom, China Hydro, China Guangdong Nuclear Group, Aviation Industry Corporation of China, CNOOC, Motorola, Caterpillar, State-owned Assets Supervision Administration Commission (SASAC), and State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs (SAFEA), we expect to show tremendous growth in new CMA candidates in the future.
While in China, I had the opportunity to meet with two new Certified Management Accountant (CMA[R]) review course providers, a group of CFOs of Chinese State-Owned Enterprises at Xiamen National Accounting Institute, the Chinese Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA), and Sino Audit, the training arm of the Chinese National Audit Office.
