Homologous sections of the cranial portion of pelvic vagina for the C, OVX, and OVX + EB groups were simultaneously processed to estimate qualitatively the GDNF- and GFR[alpha]1-immunoreactivity based on the intensity of each marker in neurons and SGC. The cytoplasmic GFAP immunostaining was used to identify SGC [32].
However, because the distinction between SGC and metastatic adenocarcinomas may be equivocal in many cases, the only SGCs included in their study were the 6 PCs, which were all (100%) positive for podoplanin.
In our study, the only 2 SGCs that were positive for AR were 2 of the 3 PCs (67% of the PCs; 18% of all SGCs).
Based on this information alone, it was unclear whether the lesion was a CMBC or an SGC, making the development of a treatment plan difficult.
We present a review of cases of malignant salivary gland carcinoma (SGC) in patients younger than 30 years of age.
The objective of this study was to analyze and summarize data from the National Cancer Institutes (NCI) Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database regarding salivary gland carcinoma (SGC) among patients younger than 30 years.
Patients with a diagnosis of SGC were identified through SEER via codes from the third edition of the International Classification of Disease for Oncology (ICD-O).
A June 1993 literature review found more than 50 references on complications of SGC use published since January 1988, but no articles with data indicating improved outcomes for AMI patients following SGC procedure.
Their risk factors included age, CHF, prolonged hypotension, second- or third-degree atrioventricular block, diabetes mellitus, prior history of AMI, anterior AMI location, and high lactate dehydrogenase, in addition to SGC use.
