On May 1, 2000, the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History (SNOMNH), located on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, opened to the public.
A relaxed uniform was chosen for the guards consisting of black trousers, a natural color roll-collar shirt with "SNOMNH SECURITY" embroidered in dark blue thread on the left breast, a black snap belt, a navy ball cap with the same security logo embroidered on the front to match the shirts, a navy turtleneck for cold weather, a black jacket, and a full-length yellow raincoat.
