As the organizer of this year's Southwestern Ontario Undergraduate Student Chemistry Conference (SOUSCC), I was pleasantly surprised by and reminded of the fact that undergraduate research is alive and well within Southwestern Ontario.
The 31st SOUSCC was held at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON on Saturday, March 22, 2003.
SOUSCC will be moving to Trent University in 2004, and then to the University of Toronto in 2005.
The high quality of the student presentations at the SOUSCC is always very satisfying.
Without their input the SOUSCC would not be viable.
I would also like to say a special thank you to Karen Henderson of UT Scarborough and her committee, which organized the 29th SOUSCC. They generously donated part of their conference's budget surplus towards the costs of the 30th SOLJSCC.
On March 24, 2001, the University of Toronto at Scarborough proudly hosted the 29th Southwestern Ontario Undergraduate Student Chemistry Conference (29th SOUSCC).
Karen Henderson, Chair of the Organizing Committee for the 29th SOUSCC, thanked her committee of faculty members Ann Verner and Janet Potter, and students Aseem Bishnoi, Jennifer Smith and Liz Casimiro.
