Robert van Tol, Operational Director, Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), said: "While traditionally, Western Europe and North America are the major markets for superyachts of 40 metres and above in numbers, due to the many ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI) in these regions, the penetration percentage of each area - the number of UHNWIs versus number of superyacht owners - provides a much more interesting insight into the markets."
On average, the largest superyachts in the world have been delivered to the Middle East with an average length of 50 metres, making the Dubai International Boat Show the natural choice for SYBAss members.
"According to our latest SYBAss Economic Report, the propensity to buy a superyacht among UHNWIs in the Middle East and Africa has increased to 51 per cent, from 48 per cent last year.
The dedicated SYBAss Pavillions have been further enhanced for the 20th anniversary after the launch in 2011, set in the heart of the show within the Marina Display Area.
The Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss) Pavilion at the Dubai International Boat Show 2014 has reinforced the UAE's status as a hub for superyachts as yacht enthusiasts conduct business with the world's leading superyacht builders.

Dubai -- The Middle East and Africa region leads the world in superyacht demand, with more than half of the region's ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI) likely to own or buy a superyacht, according to the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss) whose members are participating in the upcoming Dubai International Boat Show.
Visitors to this year's Dubai International Boat Show, the Middle East's largest and longest running leisure marine event, will have the opportunity to do business with the world's leading builders of large yachts, Super Yacht Experience, which falls under the umbrella of the prestigious Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss).
The multi award-winning show, will feature its largest ever cluster of SYBAss (Superyacht Builders Association) members, the world's most prestigious superyacht association, with ten SYBAss members having already confirmed their participation.
Show sectors included The SYBAss Lounge, organised by the Superyacht Builders Association, or SYBAss, Marina Display, Outdoor Display, Luxury Supplies and Services, Equipment Supplies and Services, Dive Middle East Exhibition, Supercar Promenade, and the Heritage Village sponsored by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
This year the Dubai International Boat Show hosts a record number of 11 Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss) members, the most respected and exclusive superyacht association globally.
