The solubility product constant ([K.sub.sp]) of silver chloride was reported to be equal to 1.78 x [10.sup.-10].
The solubility of CaS[O.sub.4] in water is given by the solubility product constant ([K.sub.sp]: 4.93 x [10.sup.-5] [M.sup.2]; Lide, 2004; though there is some small variation in published values).
Deriving solubility products for Ca and S[O.sub.4] yields values that are within an order of magnitude of the solubility product constant (Table 3), which--considering the variability in measuring ionic strength and the fact that biological fluids may not act as a perfect solvent--suggests that CaS[O.sub.4] solubility may have an effect on calcium dynamics in hemolymph.
