One of the roles of the TCNWS includes collaboration and coordination with other organizations that gather and use nursing workforce data, such as the Texas Board of Nursing (Board), the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Texas Nurses Association, Texas Hospital Association, and regional healthcare organizations and educational councils.
The TCNWS team works closely with the Board Education Department in the development and dissemination of the Nursing Education Program Information Survey (NEPIS) and the Compliance Audit for Nursing Education Programs (CANEP).
After collaboration with Board staff members to collect NEPIS data, TCNWS staff members analyze results and publish the following yearly reports for each of the three levels of nursing education: Vocational, Professional, and Graduate.
Additionally, the TCNWS publishes the following reports annually or biennially that are available from the TCNWS Publications page: https://www.dshs.texas.gov/chs/cnws/Npublica.shtm
As with all facility level surveys conducted by the TCNWS, all responses are confidential and anonymous.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact TCNWS by email at TCNWS@dshs.state.tx.us or by phone at 512-776-6723.
