More particularly, the heat capacity of the metal pipe and heat accumulation in pipes is neglected in TERMIS software.
It is based on the fact that TERMIS neglects pipe heat capacity, thus heat accumulation in the pipe leads to the early arrival of temperature front, especially for distant pipelines.
However, for other period of time (29-30 March), the difference between the approaches is not uniform and TERMIS produced somewhat larger relative errors (see Table 3).
It has been modelled by two approaches: the node method developed at the Technical University of Denmark and applying commercial TERMIS software.
