The Haplo2 (CAGAA) and 8 (TGAA) were mainly comprised of the three transitions (T [right arrow] C at position -956, C [right arrow] A at position -41 and G [right arrow] A at position 6223).
In this study, the association of the haplotypes consisting of the former four SNPs with sheep ADG was further analyzed, and the Haplo2 (CGAA) and 8 (TGAA), containing three main base transitions (a T [right arrow] C at position -956, a C [right arrow] A at position -41 and a G [right arrow] A at position 6223), were identified to be strongly associated with muscular hypertrophy traits.
For a true picture of thyroid function, however, FreeT4 (which measures the amount of T4 available to cells and tissues) and TgAA (thyroglobulin autoantibodies, high levels of which can mean immune-mediated thyroid disease) should be run.
To diagnose hypothyroidism, veterinarians rely on several thyroid function tests, including total T4, free T4, total T3, free T3, TSH, and tests for autoantibodies T4AA, T3AA, and TgAA, which indicate autoimmune thyroiditis.
Thyroglobulin (or Tg) autoantibodies will be high in about 92 percent of cases where T3 or T4 autoantibodies are present, so tests for TgAA can be used in their place and to monitor response to treatment.
