Total lifetime dose of ethanol (TLDE) was calculated by first multiplying the daily consumption of ethanol by the number of days of the periods of exposure to alcohol and then dividing the product by the body weight of the patient [3].
Alcoholic patients had consumed a mean daily dose of ethanol of 186.64 [+ or -] 7 g over a period of 20.38 [+ or -] 1.37 years with a mean TLDE of 19.94 [+ or -] 12.17 kg ethanol/kg body weight.
To demonstrate the effect of TLDE on echocardiographic abnormalities, we used the correlation analysis.
