An estimation of the speed of gait or TUGT is then made as the patient moves to the consulting room chair.
The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was used to examine the interrater reliability between different assessors performing TA muscle strength, walking speed, and TUGT. All data were analyzed with the SPSS 17.0 software.
The interrater reliabilities (ICC) of TA muscle strength, walking speed, and TUGT were 0.990, 0.976, and 0.993, respectively.

Frente ao exposto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar o desempenho de idosos no teste DGI e TUGT para avaliar a tendencia para quedas e verificar a interferencia das variaveis idade, genero e relato de eventos de quedas pregressas.
Trata-se de uma pesquisa clinica, descritiva, de carater qualitativo e quantitativo para analisar os resultados obtidos a partir da aplicacao do Dynamic Gait Index (DGI) e Time Up and Go Test (TUGT), versao brasileira, em 60 voluntarios de ambos os generos e faixa etaria entre 60 e 83 (media= 68,57, com desvio padrao [+ or -] 5,94) anos de idade do Nucleo de Assistencia a Saude da Familia de Itabaiana --SE.
Foram excluidos os voluntarios com alteracoes musculoesqueletais e que utilizavam orteses ou proteses, uma vez que a avaliacao da marcha e executada sem a ajuda de apoio instrumental ou humano, o mesmo ocorrendo com o TUGT, conforme estabelecido [7,8].
Of the 23 patients with a prosthesis, 2 did not complete the PEQ adequately and 5 did not complete the Locomotor Index; 4 patients were unable to perform the TUGT. The radiographs of one patient were missing.
The patients with a higher residual-limb quality, i.e., Chakrabarty [greater than or equal to] 60, scored significantly higher on the PEQ (n = 21, p = 0.001, Kendall [tau] = 0.51) and trended toward better performance on the TUGT (n = 19, p = 0.085, Kendall [tau] = -0.46).
This result was true for the PEQ (n = 21, p = 0.001, Kendall o = 0.58), the Locomotor Index (n =18, p = 0.005, Kendall o = 0.68), and the TUGT (n = 19, p = 0.029, Kendall o = -0.57).
