On the other hand, some competitors were surprised that CBS put a TV-MA rating as well as the letters V, S, L on the premiere episode of ``Brooklyn South,'' the new police drama from Steven Bochco.
Entertainment programming on the broadcast webs (NBC aside) will soon be subdivided into dozens of possible ratings combos: TV-PG S; TVY7 FV; TV-14 VD; TV-MA
SVLD, etc, etc.
The fall season is still a month away, but Steven Bochco's "Brooklyn South" has already earned the distinction of becoming the first primetime pilot headed for the adults-only TV-MA content rating.
By definition, shows tagged with a TV-MA are for "mature audiences only.
It will carry a TV-MA
rating (for mature audiences), so consider yourself warned.
That episode, and possible future episodes, could very well be the first series program to receive the most-adult rating, TV-MA
