Work is now taking place to secure the funding necessary to create a successor to TVAP which will build on its success for the wider benefit of the North-east.
Apprentice Impact Award - Liam Corbett, 20, Hartlepool, an apprentice fabricator at C and A Pumps, Bowburn, which was also an award winner in this year's TVAP awards, taking the Small Employer Award.
Speaking for the employers, TVAP chairman George Ritchie, who is also a North East Regional Ambassador for the Government's National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), said: "The Tees Valley Apprenticeship Programme has proved a tremendous value for money investment in young people and we are urging Government to keep the momentum going.
The TVAP 2012 apprentice winners are: * Apprentice of the Year -Daniel Hynes, 21, of Linthorpe, Middlesbrough.
TVAP chairman George Ritchie, senior vice president of Sembcorp Utilities at the Wilton International site on Teesside and a North-east regional ambassador for the Government's National Apprenticeship Service, said: "The scheme has been a massive success story for all the parties involved - the Government, employers and of course the young people who have been involved.
There is a wealth of hidden talent and through the 500 in 100 campaign TVAP - Tees Valley Apprenticeship Programme - businesses have been able to tap into this talent.
Heather Smithson, TVAP project manager says: "The commitment and enthusiasm shown by employers has certainly echoed that of the employers we have worked with through the Tees Valley Apprenticeship Programme.
Although a small business of 25 employees this company have year on year sponsored a full time apprentice and with the support of TVAP is supporting an additional two apprentices.
This award seeks to recognise an apprentice who has excelled as a result of receiving TVAP contributions and has provided an exceptional contribution to their workplace.
Heather Smithson, TVAP project manager, says the project continues to go from strength to strength.
Employers and apprentices who want to find out more about TVAP and how to access support and funding can join the Academy at Middlesbrough Football Club on Friday to celebrate the success so far.
