The aim of the meeting was to identify growing dynamics of technological innovations and e-learning in the TVET sector and increase collaboration and accreditation with vocational training institutes of Australia for maximum international recognition of Pakistani TVET graduates.
'We are also designing new programmes and courses to increase access and relevance of TVET sector in Pakistan.
He emphasized that women empowerment takes high priority in the government's agenda for 'Skills for All' strategy and TVET will play a significant role in bringing them into the mainstream economy.
Parliamentarians, ambassadors, industrialists, heads of all provincial TEVTAs and key stakeholders of skill sector are scheduled to attend the conference, which would provide a way forward towards augmenting, reforming and restructuring efforts in the TVET sector.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood said that the NVQF was one of the key elements of TVET system and development of level 5 qualifications today was yet another step closer to our commitment to culmination of 'Skills for all' strategy.
The prime minister said TVET will ensure that local youths and graduates will have the necessary skills that are much in demand within the country's main industries.
"So far, there are 118 registered centres which are registered with TVET," he said.
The EO further affirmed TESDA as the TVET authority in the country and directed government and private entities to use the development plan as reference in coming up with TVET-related policies and programs.
TVET schooling provides knowledge and competencies for immediate employment by combining formal, nonformal and informal learning.
