The excitation source information based on time-delay estimation
algorithm is used for determining the time lag between sound channels.
The general procedure of time-delay estimation, as shown in Figure 4, is based on the computation of the criteria [mathematical expression not reproducible] for each of the time delays [d.sub.i], [d.sub.ij], and [t.sub.ij].
To validate the proposed approach of time-delay estimation, let us consider the previous numerical example with [d.sub.1] = 1 and [d.sub.2] = 2.
These simulation results prove the validity and feasibility of the proposed algorithm for time-delay estimation of the large-scale interconnected nonlinear processes.
Time-Delay Estimation. Using the rolling process input/ output data, an initial estimate of the time delay can be obtained using the cross-correlation function method.
