US money transfer and payment services group Western Union (NYSE:WU) said it had concluded its GBP606m (USD971.2m/EUR706.5m) acquisition of the Travelex Global Business Payments (TGBP) business of British foreign currency exchange services company Travelex Holdings.
The company has announced working with around 300 Universities worldwide that use its Travelex Global Business Payments, including the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge and London School of Economics, in UK.
David Sear, the company global managing director at Travelex Global Business Payments, said 'Managing student fee payments should be simple but in many cases, they can be time consuming and costly.
Western Union will combine Travelex Global Business Payments with its business solutions operations in the coming months, adding more than 1,000 new employees to its staff.
