Furthermore, in order to compare LVM1 and LVM2, their comparative fit indices normed-fit-index (NFI), the relative-fit-index (RFI), the incremental-fitindex (IFI), the Tucker-Lewis index (TLI) (Tucker & Lewis 1973), and the comparative-fit-index (CFI) (Bentler 1990) were contrasted.
Hu and Bentler28 suggested that value of CFI and Tucker-Lewis index (TLI) above 0.95 and RMSEA values less than 0.06 represent an acceptable fit.
The goodness-of-fit of the unconstrained model was evaluated using the chi-square/degree-of-freedom ratio ([chi square]/df), the standardized root mean square residual (SRMR), the comparative fit index (CFI), the Tucker-Lewis index (TLI) and the root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA).
Accordingly, three relative goodness-of-fit indices were used: (1) the Normed Fit Index (NFI); (2) the Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI); and (3) the Incremental Fit Index (IFI).
As a second set of criteria for appropriateness we used several goodness-of-fit indices (in addition to [chi square]), namely the relative noncentrality index (RNI), the Tucker-Lewis index (TLI), and the root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA).
Results of the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) supported the presence of convergent and discriminant validity, acceptable reliability, and a good model fit according to Tucker-Lewis index (TLI), comparative fit index (CFI), root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA), and standardized root mean square residual (SRMR) ([chi square] = 964.686, [chi square]/df = 2.996, TLI = .972, CFI = .976, RMSEA = .072, SRMR = .024).
Different fit indices were tested: the x2 Goodness-of-Fit Statistic, Goodness-of-Fit Index (GFI), Adjusted Goodness-of-Fit Index (AGFI), and the Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA), the Comparative Fit Index (CFI), the Incremental Fit Index (IFI) and the Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI).
The Tucker-Lewis Index is the same as the non-normed index proposed by Bentler & Bonett (1980).
Factor loadings of all indicators were significant and the goodness of fit indices of the model were excellent, [chi square] = 58.40, df = 13, [chi square]/df = 4.49, CFI = 0.96, Tucker-Lewis Index = 0.93, RMSEA = 0.08.
