The police have booked Aasif with offences under various sections of Criminal Procedure Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (
UAPA).

Sources claim that the agency has under Section 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure ( CrPc) and 43 F of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (
UAPA), approached banks and financial institution for assistance to prepare the list to probe into the funding of " unlawful activities".
The three
UAPA sections stand for commission or conspiring to commit a terrorist act and for being a member of a terrorist organisation, while Section 125 of the IPC relates to waging war against a nation which is in alliance with the Government.
