Says the poet Mr Udd, "Being seated, to run through the region of the spiritual world; I have had this advantage in books.
Bangkok (Thailand), Apr.14 (ANI): Thailand's opposition United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), which is also known as the `Red Shirt', has ended its standoff outside Government House here against the government of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
It faulted the coalition government of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva for not acting decisively enough against the red-shirted UDD protesters, even though it has a legal basis to do so in the wake of its declaration of a state of emergency in Bangkok and the issuance of arrest warrants against UDD leaders.
Diplomats from Denmark, Argentina, Austria and Peru spent 20 minutes talking with UDD leaders at Ratchaprasong intersection where thousands of protesters listened to their conversation via loudspeaker.
''If it (shooting UDD leaders) happens, I'm sure that civil war will occur,'' Nattawut said.
The authorities have had arrest warrants issued for 24 UDD leaders on charges of instigating activities that led to a state of emergency in Thailand, but none of them have been arrested.
Natthawut and other UDD leaders repeatedly labeled Abhisit ''a tyrant'' who ordered the Saturday ''massacre'' and then failed to end the troops' attempts once it was clear they would not be able to overpower the protesters.
One of the protest leaders, Nattawut Saikua, insisted on the UDD's refusal to follow the order and challenged the Abhisit government to make mass arrests.
A makeshift stage has been set up at the Ratchaprasong intersection where UDD leaders took turns addressing red-shirted crowds spreading across the intersection.
In a positive response to Abhisit, the UDD leaders said at a press conference they would not bring any protesters with them to the negotiation venue and they are open to talks, either open to the press or behind closed doors.
UDD leaders split into seven teams and each team led several thousand protesters, most of them on foot or riding on motorbikes or in trucks, to five Buddhist temples, a zoo and a horse race track in downtown Bangkok.
The UDD's latest move came after Abhisit and the government coalition Monday refused to comply with the UDD's ultimatum demanding dissolution of the House of Representatives.
