UDIP. The Training and Doctrine Command and Forces Command jointly discovered a skills gap in the diagnostic capabilities of unit maintenance personnel.
The UDIP is an interim solution that will be used until an additional two weeks of advanced diagnostics training can be integrated into advanced leader courses for maintainers of the four vehicle platforms.
The Ordnance School, in conjunction with the Army Materiel Command and Forces Command, implemented the UDIP in FY 2016.
The UDIP begins with a weeklong train-the-trainer course at Fort Lee, Virginia, for Paladins and Strykers, or at Fort Benning, Georgia, for Abrams and Bradleys.
Upon completing the UDIP, the organization receives an exportable training package that facilitates continued training.
