Virgin's chief digital entertainment officer, David Bouchier, said they were ready to restore UKTV's free channels, like Dave, "immediately" with its permission.
UKTV's range of channels accounts for more than 25% of the basic Virgin pay-TV package.
She will take up her new role in March and be responsible for the production of all UKTV Originals.
