The study will allow Proton to continue research on the advanced proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis technology and is funded by a grant to UNLVRF
from the U.S.
According to Proton, this third phase, funded by the Department of Energy (DOE), allows Proton and UNLVRF
to continue collaboration that began in 2003 to develop advanced hydrogen fueling technologies.
Under the terms of the grant, Altairnano will receive $750,000 for collaborative research and development efforts through its subcontractor agreement with UNLVRF
, which began on October 1 of this year and continues through December 2006.
"We are delighted to be teamed with UNLVRF
for this effort because of our complementary accomplishments in renewable technology development.
