The Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS
) Lahore in collaboration with Pakistan Society of Food Scientists and Technologists (PSFST) organised a meeting of stakeholders on pre arrangements of "International Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FONCE-2019)".
Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani led the rally while a large number of students from different departments of UVAS
, faculty members and administrative staff participated in it.
He said that the latest processing and packaging technologies, such as vacuum packing and modified atmospherics packing were introduced under the supervision of UVAS
Meat Science experts to keep meat fresh and tasteful for a longer period of time.
He said that UVAS
was also among top 10 universities
VC Pasha said that UVAS
had already secured affiliation of the Association of American Veterinary Medical College, and it was in the process of getting its accreditation.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha claimed that with a history of 136 years, the UVAS
had positioned itself among the top Asian universities, as per the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and QS World Universities Rankings.

While speaking on the occasion, the UVAS
VC said the conference on animal omics will bring important issues to the table to be discussed so that technologies can be devised and suggestions made to improve the system.
Talking on the occasion, Mr Khan reiterated Engro Foods Commitment for aiding UVAS
to produce professionally well trained human resource in dairy sector.
Pasha has the honour to be entrusted with the responsibilities of UVAS
Vice-Chancellor for the second consecutive term.
