A broad dairy product research program, with emphasis on low-fat cheese, continues to be sponsored by the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB) and the
WMMB. A Center for Dairy Research (CDR) was formed at the University of Wisconsin six years ago with funding by
WMMB.
WMMB has developed a variety of in-store merchandising materials to support this addition to its in-store Toolbox retail programming that includes a recipe brochure, counter cards, iron man signage and table tents.

Cheese shops dedicated to cheese "are very involved in the community," observes
WMMB Wilkinson.
Specialty cheeses continue to grow, says Wilkinson of
WMMB. "The bright spot in cheese sales is the growth of specialty cheeses," she says.
The
WMMB also uses recipes as a promotion tool to help the consumer with Wisconsin cheese usage applications.
It's this stake in the cheese industry that led to the creation of the
WMMB extranet site WisconsinCheese.org.
