After recording MIC values, 20 [micro]l samples from all optically clear tubes (no growth) along with the last tube showing growth were sub-cultured on
YEPD agar plates.
According to the silage pH, lactic or acetic acid assimilation by yeast was estimated by observing the pH change of modified
YEPD medium (pH 4.0, 20 g/L of dextrose was replaced by 5 g/L lactic acid or 5 g/L acetic acid, respectively), after culturing at 30[degrees]C for 14 d.
La fermentacion se realizo empleando un sistema de cultivo con 50mL de medio
YEPD suplementado con concentraciones de 10, 20 y 50[micron]g/mL de gentamicina, y con una concentracion final de clorhidrato de metformina al 1%.
hansenii DSMZ70238 was grown for 72 h at 25[degrees]C in 250 ml Erlenmeyer flasks with 100 mL of the
YEPD broth medium at pH 4.5.
The yeast culture was maintained on
YEPD agar plates at 4oC.
All the strains of Candida albicans were cultured in
YEPD broth with the composition of yeast extract 1% (w/v), peptone 2% (w/v), and dextrose 2% (w/v).
Briefly, 100mL of
YEPD growth medium (yeast extract 1%, peptone 2%, and glucose 2%) supplemented with 5 mM formaldehyde was inoculated with the transformed yeast cells and grown with shaking at 30[degrees]C for 24 h.
In brief, ten ml
YEPD broth containing 2.5 x [10.sup.3] cfu/ml of above strain and MFCs of terpenoids, eugenol (0.128%, v/v), linalool (0.048%, v/v), citronellal (0.192%, v/v), linalyl acetate (0.064%, v/v) and cit-ral (0.064%, v/v) was incubated in separate test tubes.

The cells survival rate was determined by plating the cell suspension in solid
YEPD medium, following incubation at 30[degrees]C during 3 days.

Selection of yeast transformants resistant to formaldehyde was carried out on the
YEPD (1% yeast extract, 2% peptone, 2% dextrose, Difco, Sparks, MD, USA) agar supplemented with 5 mM formaldehyde.
