We tried to include a wider range of interviewees in regard to age, gender, family background, education, work history, and participation in YPTP and YWETS.
Of the 50 interviewees, half had joined YPTP, YWETS, or both.
Discussion of YPTP and YWETS highlighted a number of issues that reinforced their perception of the schemes as some form of political process that was aimed at keeping young people "off the streets" while keeping unemployment figures down.
