The group has already taken steps of begin its own parish plan and has gained sponsorship from the Yorkshire Rural Community Council.

The Yorkshire Rural Community Council is calling out to anybody who is particularly proud of their village to enter the 2007 Calor Yorkshire Village of the Year contest.
The village is a regional winner in a community life competition run by gas supplier Calor and the Yorkshire Rural Community Council.
