Resources--such as web ontology language (OWL), resource description framework schema (RDFS), and SPARQL, a resource description framework (RDF) query language--that are needed to structure and search information are presented.
Web ontology language (OWL) lineage can be drawn from the framework for representing knowledge introduced in 1975 by Minsky as the semi-structured data model.
They may be as complex as an ontology, whereby the terms and the relations between them are defined using logic and are expressed in computable languages such as the Web Ontology Language (OWL 2016), or, they may be as simple as a hierarchical vocabulary.
The book presents a new ontology representation language called Multimedia Web Ontology Language (MOWL) and explains how MOWL can be used in different application scenarios.
