Additionally, we recovered transcripts homologous to the G-protein beta subunit, the G-protein gamma subunit (gngt1), protein kinase C (PKC), cyclic nucleotide gated-channel alpha 1 (cnga1), regulator of G-protein-signaling 9 (RGS9), retinal degeneration B (rdgB), arrestin (arr), guanylyl cyclase (GC), and cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE6abc)--all of which are implicated with phototransduction in ciliary-type photoreceptor cell systems (Fain et al., 2010).
